The individual in this role is responsible to ensure a smooth operation of the entire plant when the Shift Leader is not available.
He/She must be able provide input to operating procedures and methods to eliminate any production obstacles and improve quality.
The Line Leader will need to complete the Tech 1, Tech 2, and Line Leader training.
This role is a secondary supervisory position and is responsible to achieve the assigned production objectives through the direct management when Shift Leader is not available.
Essential functions and
Responsibilities:
Assist the Shift Leader in organizing and managing day-to-day activities for plant operations.
Able to effectively step in when Shift Leader is not available.
Knowledgeable on all job responsibilities.
Provide oversight on production line ensuring daily goals are achieved.
Determine staffing resource requirements, work allocation and production deadlines to achieve production objectives.
Ensure materials, supplies and equipment are readily and continuously available for workers to carry out production process.
Schedule routine inspection and maintenance of plant equipment to prevent machine downtime, as assigned Coordinate with Shift Leader to resolve plant issues and employee issues in a timely and effective manner.
Ensure company policies and procedures are understood and followed.
Assist in the onboarding process of new hires as assigned.
Assist in training and providing educational materials to staff, as necessary.
Work effectively with Quality lead on assigned projects.
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all legal requirements, company safety procedures, and local and state health and safety regulations are met.
Maintain proper documentation, use GDS, for all plant related activities, as assigned.

- Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks Proven management experience with the ability to supervise multiple team members.
Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures.
Understanding of KPIs and Quality Statistics.
Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from Shift Leader.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks.
Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Physical demands and work environment:

Ability to sit, stand and walk around for long periods at a time.
Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 65 pounds.
Must wear safety gear when in production facility.
Participate in production, quality and management meetings, as a backup to the Shift Leader.
